The Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor is being developed on the backbone of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor between Delhi and Mumbai, covering an overall length of 1,504 kilometres with end terminals at Dadri in Delhi NCR and JN Port near Mumbai.
The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, along with the Western Dedicated Freight line, will be a vital backbone of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
DMIC covers about 150 kilometres (influence zone) on both sides of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. Aimed at building state-of-the-art infrastructure, a strong economy and global competitiveness, the project incorporates mega industrial zones, SEZs, multi-modal logistics and transport hubs, dedicated freight corridors, expressways, airports, seaports and power plants.

Delhi–Mumbai Expressway
A 1,350-kilometre-long, 8-lane-wide (expandable to 12 lanes) access-controlled expressway connecting India’s national capital New Delhi to its financial capital Mumbai. The expressway will reduce the current 24-hour travel time between the two metropolitan cities to 12 hours. The total project value, including land cost, is around ₹1,00,000 crore.

4 dedicated lanes for e-vehicles — where trucks and buses can run at a speed of 120 kilometres per hour, which will bring down logistics cost by 70 percent as heavy vehicles will run on electricity instead of diesel.
Greenfield expressways are designed to avoid inhabited areas and go through new alignments to bring development to new areas and reduce acquisition costs and construction timelines.
